You can't have enough young tight ends, apparently...

So I was thinking this morning that the Patriots spend a high pick on a tight end seemingly every single year in an endless search to replace Ben Coates. I thought, "Hey, if they're going to throw all these picks away, why don't they just go to the Chargers and say 'We'll give you our second round picks for the next 10 years for Antonio Gates.' They have to say 'Yes,' right?"

Then I thought "RB... WR... TE... Wait, our offense isn't the pressing problem, it's the aging and depleted D. Our LB corp is starting to look a little gray. We have zero DB depth. We have to address one with our higher 4th round pick, hopefully LB."

"With the 106th selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select Some Dude, TE, Some School."

A second freaking tight end? Did we need one tight end?!?!?

I'm not one to doubt Lord Bill... but seriously, I'm dying here...

The Saint Cloud State of the AHL

Does the "M5" logo stand for "Five Years of Monarchs Hockey" or "Five Years of Mediocrity"? You'd think the most popular team in the world that isn't in the NHL would be able to, you know, not be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, every single year of their existance.

Even though this has been my first year in awhile where I've been unable to see them play a game (thanks to the AHL's unbalanced schedule Cleveland managed to play none of the seven New England based teams this year... again.), I'm still pretty disappointed that they coughed up a 3-2 series lead again... and to Hartford. Not pleased.

That said, if the Pittsburgh Penguins become the Hartford Penguins, I'm ordering a Ryan Whitney jersey that very day.
